Who We Are: Key Point Health Services is a leading nonprofit agency serving people with behavioral healthcare needs in the Greater Baltimore area. We provide comprehensive community-based services to adults and children that support the individuals journey to wellness and recovery. Among the programs and services we provide are therapy and psychiatry in our Outpatient Mental Health Centers, Adult and Child Psychiatric Rehabilitation in the home and community, School-Based Therapy, Community Outreach for adults, and adult Residential Services.

Who We Need: We are currently looking for a full-time Residential Counselor to join our Harford Residentialteam in Aberdeen, MD.

What We Need:

  • Someone who has a passion for working with individuals with a mental illness or a willingness to learn.
  • Someone who has knowledge of the DSM and relevant symptoms of the most common diagnoses within the program (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, etc).
  • Someone who can demonstrate proficiency in assessment, treatment planning, advocacy skills and case management skills.
  • Someone who possesses effective writing, interpersonal and oral communication skills while able to maintain patient confidentially.
  • Someone who has an understanding and sensitivity to serving a culturally diverse population.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach and evaluate skills in the client home or community setting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation including assessment, case management, service documentation, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Perform crisis intervention, advocacy, and liaison with community resources as needed
  • Able and willing to drive 15 passenger vans or other vehicles provided by the agency (requires a traditional drivers license only).
  • Responsible for medication monitoring and education to support self-dosing of medication after comprehensive onsite training.

What You Need:

  • A degree from an accredited college or university in the human services field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling)
  • In the absence of a degree, a High School diploma or GED with at least two years of experience providing services to individuals with a mental illness or in a related field
  • Valid and active Maryland driver's license (or state of residence).
  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Able to pass a criminal background check, MVA check, and pre-employment screenings.
