Rivermont Collegiate Human Resource Manager in Bettendorf, Iowa

Rivermont Collegiate is a co-educational, independent school offering an exclusively college preparatory program. Its eight and one-half acre campus is located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in Bettendorf, Iowa. Founded in 1884, Rivermont is the only Preschool through 12th Grade college preparatory, day and boarding school in the Quad Cities.

SUMMARY [The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for the full scope of the human resources function. This position performs all administrative and clerical functions related to Human Resources, employment, benefits, workers compensation and other related duties. The HR Manager oversees job descriptions and recruiting, onboarding, employee compensation, payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, staff performance plans, compliance and all HR policies and procedures. *RELATIONSHIPS The HR Manager reports directly to the Headmaster.   • Serve as first point-of-contact for employees with questions and/or issues regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Work closely with the Headmaster and throughout the contract and hiring process; creating job descriptions and postings, candidate screening, and conducting interviews.
  • Prepare and manage all new hire paperwork, including background checks, and maintain confidential employee files.
  • Track and manage all required forms, training and certifications for all faculty and staff (including, but not limited to, Blood Borne Pathogen, Mandatory Reporter, TB/Physical forms, First Aid/CPR, I-9s, Fingerprints, etc.)
  • Work with the Finance Director and external brokers to analyze all data required for annual benefit renewals (health, dental, vision, FSA, cafeteria plan, retirement, Life/ADandD and LTD insurances)
  • Manage HR programs including processing changes to benefits plans and maintaining online employee benefit portals.
  • Ongoing administration of all health, welfare and retirement benefits available to employees, overseeing vacation, personal and sick time.
  • Administration and processing of bi-weekly payroll through the external payroll processing system, ensuring accuracy of compensation, tax information, benefits, and/or other deductions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Headmaster.
