Position: Information Systems Security Officer

Location:Dumfries, VA

Overview:

Group W, Inc. (an employee-owned company) is seeking an experienced and resourceful network development and systems security ISSO to support the establishment and maintenance of computer systems infrastructure and administration. Group W has two offices in Northern Virginia, and while this position is based out of our Dumfries office, the ISSO will need to visit the Vienna office and client sites regularly.

Requirements:

• DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility
• U.S. citizenship
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• 2+ years of ISSO experience with one or more of the following certifications: CFCP, CISM, CISSP, or GSLC
• Linux + certification
• Experience with Windows and Linux classified systems related to:
  • Authorization to operate (ATO)
  • Implementing control requirements defined in Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Applying Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Completing data transfers

Preferred:

• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Experience creating and editing technical reports, security policies, and procedures
• Ability to create charts, graphs and/or analyze security incident data
• Experience creating clear and informative security awareness presentations and training materials

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain multiple classified Windows- and Linux-based networked computers in peer-to-peer networkand/or cluster connections
• Apply Department of Defense Risk Management Framework principles to support obtaining authorization to operate classified information systems from DCSA
• Manage system security planning, testing, and security control assessments
• Evaluate systems for potential security weaknesses, recommend vulnerability improvements, and implement and document changes
• Ensure compliance of security procedures by investigating and resolving audit requests and reported or suspected security breaches
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security and privacy policies are implemented at all system layers
• Conduct regular security reviews and compliance audits and prepare audit reports for management and stakeholders
• Develop and update the System Security Plan (SSP), Risk Assessment Report, and Contingency Plan based on ongoing assessments and changes in the environment
• Provide guidance and support for Authorization and Accreditation (AandA) processes
• Monitor security systems for potential vulnerabilities and respond to and mitigate incidents as they arise
• Ensure proper configuration management of security tools and software, maintaining compliance with established standards and policies

Salary:$90,000 - $130,000 (Provided as a general guideline only. Compensation dependent upon relevant work experience related to the scope of the position, education, training, and market considerations).
