Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Elwood, Indiana

Description A growing client is working with Robert Half to hire a Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing personnel and daily operations of the human resources department. Your responsibilities

  • Research compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits

  • Take part in interdepartmental meetings with other managers

  • Understand and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings

  • Keep historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records

  • Oversee exit interviews and procedures

  • Institute management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures

  • Define recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws

  • Review reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs

  • Manage the organization's human resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices

  • Oversee all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team

  • Educate employees such that they follow all policies and procedures

  • Be in charge of human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees Requirements - A comprehension of the key principles of employment law and EEOC regulations

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or relevant experience

  • 5+ years in human resources

  • PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications are preferred

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience within human resources

  • Professional in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • Excellent ethics, integrity, and standards

  • Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution

  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, compensation and wage structure

  • Ability to view issues with impartiality

  • Knowledge of HR software and strong familiarity of MS Office
